Ritsu: Mikariiin, do you have a second?

Mika: …~♪

Ritsu: Hey, answer me. Show proper manners to someone who’s older than you, Mikarin.

Mika: Nnah? Ah... I was wonderin’ who you were talkin’ to when ya said “Mikarin”, but ya meant me, huh?

Need somethin’ from me, Ritsu-kun? Wait jus’ a lil, ’m sewing ‘n I wanna get to a good place before I stop.

‘m probably bad at stayin’ focused, huh. I’ve gotta do things without stoppin’ or else I’ll forget what I was doin’.

Ritsu: Rather than not being able to stay focused, isn’t it just that you have a bad memory?

Aren’t you still young...? If you’re already showing signs of dementia now, once you become old like me your brain will be completely empty.

Mika: “Like me” y’say... Yer still young too, y’know. ♪

Ritsu: ......

Mika: Nnah? What is it, can ya not stare at me?

Ritsu: You’re so demanding...

What’s that you’re sewing? Seems like you’ve been spending all your free time recently poking at it.

Mika: Nnah. Oshi-san, y’know, he uses stuff like cloth and thread real liberally. ‘Cause o’ that, we’ve got a lotta extra cloth scraps.

‘s a waste to throw all that away, ‘n I can practice my sewin’, too…

I can make stuff like shirts ‘n drawstring bags by randomly patchin’ together the cloth, hehe. ♪

’s an effective use o’ the extra cloth, ‘n it doesn’t cost any money, either.

’m a freeloader at Oshi-san’s place, so I can’t make anythin’ extravagant—I need to send money back home, so ‘m always runnin’ out, y’see?

Valkyrie’s activities don’t really take profit into consideration either, so I gotta save up.

Ritsu: Wow… Just like a capable housewife, Mikarin. You’ll be a good wife.

Mika: ’m a boy, so I won’t be a wife?

Nnah. While we were talkin’ ‘n I was workin’, I forgot where I left off.

Ritsu: Ah, sorry for being a bother. I’m going to sleep, so wake me up when you’re done.

Mika:
Nn... I can’t really bring myself to do that, so I’ll quickly listen to what ya needed. What was it ya wanted to ask o’ me, Ritsu-kun?

Ritsu: zzz… zzz… ♪

Mika: Whoa, he’s already sleepin’.

(He’s like a baby, sleepin’ that deeply. Seems like he’s been awake durin’ the daytime lately, though.)

(...Nnah. Ritsu-kun seems to be huggin’ something that looks like a costume?)

(That’s Knights’ uniform, isn’ it? It‘s made outta real good fabric, as expected of a veteran unit...)

(It looks like it’s stiff ‘n would hinder yer movements, but I guess form was prioritized over function, huh?)

(If it‘s like that, Valkyrie’s got a similar concept.)

(...Hey, isn’ this costume a lil ripped?)

(Nnah, looks like it got caught on somethin’ sharp. I wonder if Ritsu-kun wanted me to fix where it tore?)

(Since I often sew in my free time, ‘n he knows ’m in the Handicrafts Club...)

(Alright. If that’s what it is, then I’ll definitely fix it. Since we’re classmates ‘n all. ‘n he’s Naru-chan’s precious teammate, so... I gotta get along with ‘im.)

(~...♪)

...Okay. Yep, ’m done.

Ritsu-kun, Ritsu-kun, wake up.

Ritsu: Uuu. Stop it, don’t shake me... And I just entered non-REM sleep, too...

Yaawn... Whaaat, Mikarin? Don’t disturb my peaceful sleep.

Mika: Rather, aren’t you the one who called to me ‘cause ya had somethin’ to ask o’ me? Look, I mended the tear on yer uniform~ ♪

Ritsu: ? Oh, thanks…

I wonder when this tore. It isn’t good to just sleep in it without any thought towards it getting ripped or stained, huh.

Mika: Ya didn’t notice? Wait, so ya didn’t come to me ‘bout that?

Ritsu: Hmm. Mikarin, you were super interested when I said I was a vampire before, weren’t you?

You had all sorts of questions. I was curious too, so I thoroughly dug through the library in my house.

Mika: Ah... That was a super long time ago. Around spring, when we became classmates, I just asked ya about it outta curiosity.

I love scary ‘n mysterious stuff, after all. ♪

Ritsu: Anyone can understand that just by looking at you. You love skull patterns and the such, don’t you?

...You didn’t put any sort of mysterious devilish redesign on my costume, did you?

Mika: I didn’t, I just fixed it. I also often tear my clothes, so repairin’ stuff’s my specialty.

Anyway, did ya find anythin’ out when ya looked through the library?

Ritsu: Hm~. I did find something that looks like a diary that my ancestor may have written. It’s all in English, though, so I can’t read it.

If you’re interested, I’ll leave it to you to translate it. Doing it myself would be a bother... Anija was fluttering around overseas, though, so he could probably read it without a problem.

Mika: Nnah, if it’s a personal thing like a diary, ’s not good to read it.

Wait, this doesn’ even look like a diary, does it?

Ya might’ve misunderstood ‘cause o’ the handwriting, but this looks like a real old manuscript. Looong ago, printing technology wasn’t as developed, so books were copied by hand.

Look, “Mabinogion”’s written on the cover. I’ve heard of it before somewhere; isn’ it a foreign novel?

I think I’ve seen this before in a movie or somethin’, one o’ the ones havin’ to do with the legend o’ King Arthur.

Ritsu: Huhh... So my ancestor was interested in knightly tales. I feel a strange sense of connection.

Mika: Ahaha, Ritsu-kun’s a “knight” too, after all.

Was it somethin’ like bein’ destined to become a knight, or fulfillin’ yer ancestor’s dearest wish without knowin’?

Ritsu: Nn, “Knights” is honestly a pretty loose-fitting name for us, but...

Well, whatever. At the very least, we know what this book is even supposed to be now. Thanks for the info, Mikarin.

Mika: ’s no problem. I really was just askin’ before outta curiosity, but to think ya really put all this effort into lookin’ into it... kinda makes me happy. Thank ya kindly. ♪

Ritsu: It’s no problem... I’m just bad at forgetting things, that’s all. These sorts of things end up stuck in your head for a long time, huh?

Mika: Ahaha. ‘m pretty forgetful, so ‘m actually envious o’ that. ♪

Whoops. First bell’s ringin’, I gotta get ready for the next class.

Ritsu: Ah, we have work starting now, so I’ll be leaving. Tell that to the teacher~ ...Well, Nacchan’s probably already told him, anyway.

Mika: I see. ’s the middle o’ the day on a weekday, but Knights is super busy anyway, huh~

Do yer best. ’m cheerin’ for ya.

Ritsu: Thanks. A book would be a burden to carry around, so you hold onto it; if you can read it, go ahead.

Mika: Alright. I have a dictionary with me since we use it in class, so I’ll take a look at it.

Hehe, ’m glad we got to talk. Feel free to chat with me again any time, Ritsu-kun. ♪
